Homes in the Heart of Virginia: Google +1 -- How Helpful it Would be if You Would Give Me a +1

Google +1 -- How Helpful it Would be if You Would Give Me a +1

Google +1 -- How Helpful it Would be if You Would Give Me a +1

As a business owner, we need all the help we can get.  As a consumer, we want to know when someone does a good job.  It seems as if Google is trying to give us a ratings platform that is easy and productive. It would be helpful to Real Living Cornerstone, and other small businesses if you would be kind enough to let Google know that you like working with us.

This post is written to let you know how you can do just this!  Go ahead, enjoy the power of +1'ing your favorite places.  You will enjoy it, I know you will.

To be able to use +1 you need a public Google profile. You may already have one if you use Google regularly.

The first step is to set up a Google account. If you already have one you can skip this step. If you are already using Gmail, Google Docs, or one of the many other Google offerings then you already have a Google login. If not, go to, click "Sign In" in the top right hand corner and then click on the link "Create an account now." Just follow the instructions.

Once you have a Google Account go ahead and log in with the account. In the top right hand corner you will see your email address entered during the account set up process.

Click on the email and you will get a drop down menu.

Click on "Create Profile" which will take you to another page on which you can click "Create My Profile" and then just follow the steps. At the end of the process you will have a Google Public Profile.

Now when you are logged in and perform a search with Google you will see the +1 button appear at the end of each search result.

You can click on this button to recommend that item. Once you start clicking on the +1 buttons, when you go back to your profile page you will have a +1 tab where you can manage your +1 recommendations.
