Sunset Beach Vacation Summer of 2011

beautiful view of Sunset Beach NCThis year has been a rough and tumble real estate year.  Vacation couldn't come soon enough.  One of our families favorite vacation spots is Sunset Beach NC.  We have shared this vacation with my brother and his family on many years, my sister and her family, my mom and dad and David's mom and dad on many more occasions.  This year is was just David, Navona, Kyle and Matthew. We love the serenity of the beach

Sunset is about a 6 hour drive from Central Virginia.  It is the last beach in the North Carolina strands of beaches.  The area is not highly commercial and is great for a family that really wants to enjoy the beach.  We love it because it provides a challenge to fishing as well.  If you can combine fishing and the beach it is a perfect vacation for my boys.

While on the beach you see the beach.  My boys 17 and 15 enjoyed the sand and ocean.  Sunset Beach is really a special beach.  After playing in the sand and the ocean waves my entire family were calm and happy.  Playing at the beach is really good for your soul!

Thanks for the gator comment, one guy on the beach walked up and asked if it was a pig....ummm I don't think he has ever seen a pig or a gator.

Roger, the boys are having a good time and as a mom that is what we hope for!

Thanks Jill, Hit the road, no time like the present to have a vacation.

What I always find interesting is how the beach transforms adults back to kids again, that is great to see

Navona, I love your photos !  The sand gator might be my favorite.  And the North Carolina beaches, IMHO, are the best in the country.

Gerry, you are so right, I always remember my families trips to the beach while here.

Connie, I do feel lucky, I hope you got some time away too.

Thanks Patricia, I agree with you on the North Carolina beaches.  They are awesome!

Love the crocodile!  From a previous series of posts about the Serengheti, I am a crocodile!  That is a terrific beach for us to keep in mind.  Duck and Kitty Hawk are so crowded!
